Notice anything different? If not, then you haven't been reading the eSpirit lately. This month's edition marks the launch of both the redesigned newsletter and the redesigned website. Not only have we created a new look-and-feel for the site, it has also been renamed. The new site is http://alifetimeoflove.org. The previous site was found to be too confusing with too many w's in the front of the name. Please take the time to visit the new site and don't forget to bookmark it for easier access in the future. Please let the editors know what you like and what you don't like about this newsletter. After all, this is your newsletter.

From our Execs

What a weekend! And it was because of you! Through your prayers, words, and actions, the April weekend started with 16 sacraments, and ended with 16 sacraments. We can see God’s presence through your faith and deeds. Our thanks and appreciation go out to you.

We also ask you to continue doing God’s work by being an example of a loving sacrament, by continuing to invite, and continuing to pray for the Weekend. The June Weekend currently has 5 couples. We also have Weekends scheduled in September, October, and November. And there are Weekends scheduled in the Chicago and Joliet areas. All these weekends could use your support through prayers and inviting.

As you can see, we don’t have time to take a break from inviting. We need to make inviting a part of our lifestyle. Arla and I struggle with this. We have moments when we are lovingly and actively inviting couples and priests to the weekend. And then there are those moments when we aren’t. We know that if we are to keep the dream of the weekend alive we must make inviting part of who we are. We would like you to join us on the journey.

In case you were wondering, doing God’s work isn’t all work. It can be fun! The “Puttin’ on the Ritz” dance is May 7 at 7:00 p.m. We will be dancing and conversing with a fun and lively group at St. Pat’s Mission Church on Crane Road. We are still taking registrations and encountered and non-encountered couples are welcome. If you aren’t able to register before hand you can sign up at the door. There is also the Rockford/Madison/Milwaukee Family Campout June 24, 25, and 26th. It is at Hickory Hills Campground in Edgerton, WI, which is only a couple miles off of I-90. We were there last year and everyone had a great time. Registrations must be in by May 24th. If you can’t register by then you can contact the Campground directly to see if they still have sites available. We hope you will come out to play with WWME this spring!!

Keep loving each other, keep dialoguing and keep inviting!!!!
All our love,
Garry & Arla

Inviting idea of the month

It’s the planting season. While we are out in our yards, getting our lawns, gardens and flowers ready, planting seeds, lets plant a few seeds for inviting. Plant a Marriage encounter yard sign. You can get these from the ERL website. You can view these yard signs and order some by clicking here. The signs are $7.00 each and are available in both English and Spanish. These are a good way to get the message out and let everyone know how much you love each other at the same time.

Pray the Rosary

Does your community meet to pray the Rosary for the sake of the Worldwide Marriage Encounter Movement? If you do, let The eSpirit know, so they can post it. If you don't, please think about starting one.

The Presenting Team community prays the Rosary at 7:00 pm on the 1st Thursday of every month. The evening is open to all Encountered couples and their families. We all know the power of prayer, so pray the Rosary as often as you can.

Check the website for more information on location and dates or call Ben & Jane Deutsch at (630) 377-0635.

Marriage Encounter "Joy Jobs"

Is the Spirit calling you to be more involved in the WWME movement?
The Rockford/Madison/Milwaukee Marriage Encounter Community is in great need of couples who ant to be more actively involved in changing the world one couple at a time! Listed below are some of the ways you can help. If you have any questions about any of these jobs or if you're a Community Leader and have a couple in mind that you think would be a great asset to any of these communities please contact Ben & Jane Deutsch at (630) 377-0635 for more information.

SUPPORT COMMUNITY
House/Greeter Couple: Responsible for the set up and takedown of the Weekend. This job is split between 2 couples. This couple is also responsible for scheduling communities to greet on & off for the Weekend.
Prayer Couple Coordinator East: This couple is responsible for making sure all couples on the Weekend from the Eastern part of the Rockford Diocese have a prayer couple and extended Dialogue letter.
Prayer Couple Coordinator North: This couple is responsible for making sure that all Wisconsin couples making the Weekend have a prayer couple and extended dialogue letter.

CONTINUING THE JOURNEY COMMUNITY
Community Start up Couple: This couple would be responsible with helping the CTJ Leaders to get new communities started up. CTJ is also looking for seasonal couples who could help with different functions throughout the year. These different committees would be for "Puttin' on the Ritz" dance, WWME Family campout, and the Rolle Bolle tournament.

INVITING COMMUNITY
Ministry Fair Coordinators: This couple would be responsible for tracking and getting help, if needed, for parish ministry fairs.
Media Coordinators: This couple would be responsible for planning and placing ads in different Catholic publications. They would also explore other media vehicles for getting the WWME word out to people.
Mass Talk Workshop Couple(s): This couple/couples would be responsible for coordinating those couples who already have Mass talks written. They would also workshop couples who would like to write and present Mass talks throughout the 3 dioceses.
Pulpit Pal Coordinators: This couple would be responsible with the scheduling and maintenance of our pulpit pal boards. These new inviting tools are used in the backs of various churches as another means for getting the word out for the Weekend.

Please prayerfully consider one of these or other roles within our Worldwide Marriage Encounter community. Also, please take the time to complete our survey so that you can "Share Your Couple Love" with the community at large.

The Funny Bone

You might have purchased a bad computer if...
  • the lower corner of the monitor has the words, "Etch-a-Sketch".
  • the only chip inside is a Dorito.
  • if the screen often displays the message "Is it break time, yet?"

  • ...

There are three types of people in the world: those who can count and those who can't.
